Purpose of the Subcommittee
The Finance & Budget Subcommittee, comprising the Mayor and Vice Mayor, reviews the City budget before its adoption at a public meeting by the City Council. Additionally, the Subcommittee may discuss and provide direction on budgetary topics that span multiple years, such as capital improvements, homelessness, and public safety. This is a Standing Subcommittee that is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act (Brown Act), which requires local government business to be conducted at open and public meetings, except in certain limited situations.
