The Human Services Division provides social services, health education and information to the community to improve the quality of life for those in need. Services include necessities of life such as food and shelter; AIDS education; pre-school education for young children; job placement; legal services; mental health services; and homeless services. Services are provided via contracts with local non-profits and in-house programs. Target populations are Seniors, people living with AIDS, Gay men, Lesbians, families with children, immigrants and people living with disabilities.

The staff oversees social service contracts totaling over $5 million annually by performing program and financial audits, contract management and administrative support. Staff provides crisis intervention and information, and referral to constituents who call or walk in to City Hall.

WEST HOLLYWOOD COMMUNITY STUDY 2019 
The City of West Hollywood periodically conducts a Community Study to help inform the funding priorities of the City’s Human Services Division.  The 2019 study updates demographics; identifies social services needs, use and satisfaction; and provides community input on housing, public safety, mobility, economic factors and City-resident communication.

HIV ZERO STRATEGIC PLAN
Click on the image below to access the City's HIV Zero Strategic Plan which seeks to expand access to healthcare for people living with HIV and people currently at an elevated risk for acquiring HIV, reduce new HIV infections, reduce HIV-related disparities and health inequalities, and slow disease progression from HIV to Stage 3 (AIDS).
