Regulatory Business Licenses

The City of West Hollywood requires a Regulatory Business License for 34 specific business types to operate within city limits. Click here to see if your business requires a Regulatory Business License. All other inquiries related to Business Tax Certificates must contact Revenue Division at (323) 848-6319.

Application Process

The application process varies based on business type, however, all Business License Applications require internal and external agency approvals. Some agencies may require an on-site inspection prior to signing off on the application. Please see the specific business type application for a comprehensive list of required inspections. The application/processing fee for most regulatory business licenses is $300.

Temporary Business Licenses

Temporary Licenses are required for when an individual or entity wants to operate the following types of business on a temporary or short-term basis:

Peddlers and Solicitors
Promoters - Dance and Entertainment
Valet Parking (valid for up to 7 days)
