The City of West Hollywood is committed to green building for new construction and major renovation projects. This page contains the compliance requirements for residential and nonresidential projects. Mixed-use projects shall comply with the requirements for both residential and nonresidential projects.

Residential Compliance

Single-family and multi-family projects must follow the process presented below.  This process identifies the new requirements applicable for projects submitting for permit on or after January 1, 2020.

Planning Review Phase

1. Review the Manual
2. Verify Requirements
3. Include Preliminary Green Building Checklist

Plan Check Phase

1. Review the Manual
2. Verify Requirements
3. Select a CALGreen Building Inspector
4. Include Final Green Building Checklist in Construction Documents

Inspection Phase

1. Follow Green Building Inspection Guidelines
2. Schedule a Green Building Incremental Verification
3. Schedule a Green Building Final Verification
