All plan check services are available through the City of West Hollywood Permit and License Portal.
All applicants are required to register and create an account. If you have a project already in plan check, please use the same email address submitted with your original application when creating your new account. Applicants can track the review process and project history through their account dashboards.
Building and Safety Division does not accept physical plans or documents and will only be accepting electronic submittals through the City of West Hollywood Permit and License Portal. Information on the portal can be found on our webpage here: Permits & Licenses | City of West Hollywood (weho.org)
Submitting a Project to Building and Safety
Please note, incomplete submittals and files not complying with the City’s e-Plan Check standards will delay your project review.
- Verify that you have a complete plan check package to submit. (Refer to "Concurrent Plan Check Submittal Checklist")
- Projects drawings and supporting construction documents shall be prepared per the prescribed program policies (Refer to "Preparing e-Plans") Deviation from these instructions will result in delays in your project review.
- For a submittal to be formally processed, applicants will be required to complete an application, pay applicable fees and upload a complete set of construction documents through the City’s CSS portal.
- Once the application has been verified as complete, a status update will be confirmed by accessing your CSS project record.
- Prescreening of uploaded documents will be performed by Building and Safety staff to ensure that a complete package has been received. Please allow a minimum of five (5) working days after you have uploaded your documents for the Prescreening process to take place. If there are questions or missing items from your submittal, you will receive instructions on how complete your package through your CSS project record.
