In accordance with Assembly Bill (AB) 2234, beginning January 1, 2024, the following information is provided for transparency for residential development post-entitlement processing.

 

Post Entitlement Submittal Requirements:

 

Building Permits:

The City of West Hollywood’s Building and Safety Division has a comprehensive list of all submittal items required for Building Permits. This webpage provides information on the permit process for a variety of new residential developments which include Detached Single-Family Residential, Attached Single-Family Residential, Multi-Family Residential, Accessory Dwelling Units, and Mixed-Use. Processing times for post entitlement reviews of Building Permits for residential projects are provided on the City’s website and permit processing/project status can be provided upon request by emailing building@weho.org or by visiting our public counter during our business hours.

For general plan check review turn around times please refer to the City's "Plan Submittal Review Program" handout. Please note the timeframes listed do not include processing/screening time.

Encroachment Permits:

For developments that require work within the public right-of-way, an encroachment permit will be required. Encroachment Permit Applications and requirements are provided online here.

Processing times for Public Works & Engineering Division reviews of Encroachment are provided on the City’s website and status can be checked through the City’s City Grows Portal accessed online here.

Outside Agency Reviews:

The following outside agencies may require review of plans and/or fees prior to the City being able to issue permits.

  • Los Angeles County Fire Department
  • Los Angeles County Health Department
  • Los Angeles County Waste Management Department
  • Los Angeles County Sanitation
  • Los Angeles Unified School District
  • South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD)
  • California Department of Industrial Relations
  • Beverly Hills Water Company
  • Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
  • Southern California Edison
  • Southern California Gas Company
