Home MenuCare Team
The West Hollywood Care Team is a mobile behavioral health responder dedicated to supporting the community in times of crisis. The team provides services such as crisis stabilization, safety planning, connection to community resources, and follow-up care. All services are delivered using a harm-reduction, trauma-informed, and culturally competent approach. To ensure respectful care and reduce stigma, the Care Team operates in an unmarked vehicle without lights or sirens.
Crisis Support Available 24/7
Crisis support begins with a call to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7 and staffed by trained crisis counselors who provide support for mental health-related distress. As a universal entry point across the U.S., 988 ensures that anyone, anywhere can access help. In the Los Angeles region, the 988 center is operated by Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services. For more information, visit 988lifeline.org.
When a local 988 caller requires in-person assistance, the call is transferred to the LA County Department of Mental Health (DMH) for mobile crisis response. If DMH’s response time exceeds 30 minutes, the Care Team is co-dispatched during its operating hours.
In addition to supporting 988 callers, the Care Team also responds to referrals from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, LA County Fire Stations 7 & 8, Block by Block Security Ambassadors, and other City-approved partners.
Care Team Hours of Operation
The Care Team operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays, ensuring continuous support for the community.
