Volunteers can get involved in several roles: (1) General Assistance: Help with data entry, monthly newsletter mailings, and safe sex kits. (2) Program Support: Activities require specialized skills and/or experience to support specific programs. (3) Special Events: Support for annual events with tasks that include, but are not limited to set-up, general support, guest registration, and breakdown. |
Items Needed: |
The Los Angeles LGBT Center distributes new and gently used clothing to LGBT youth who are low-income and/or experiencing homelessness. Gifts of gently used clothes, and new underwear and socks, are greatly appreciated. Items of apparel in greatest demand are: (1) gently used casual clothes (of all adult sizes); (2) gently used professional attire for job interviews; (3) gently used winter coats and sweaters; (4) shoes in excellent condition; and (5) new socks and underwear. New and unopened hygiene and cosmetic products are also welcome. |

For over 50 years, Saban Community Clinic has provided healthcare services to patients in Los Angeles regardless of income or immigration status. This includes medical, behavioral health and dental care. Their homeless services provide on-the-ground medical care and direct outreach to some of the most vulnerable homeless individuals in our community. Saban also provides free access to showers on a walk-in basis. More than 60 people a day utilize the shower program and are provided with toiletries or one of Saban’s signature Homeless Connect Kits filled with essential item like a protein bars, water, new underwear, socks, and more. |

In-kind donations of toiletries (full and sample sizes accepted) and new undergarments are welcome as part of Saban’s Shower Program. In addition. the following essential items are needed for Saban’s Homeless Connect Kits: bottled water, protein bars, travel sized lotion, travel sized body wash or soap, lip balm, wipes, travel sized hand sanitizer, underwear, socks, toothbrushes & toothpaste, band aids, tissue travel packs, deodorant, and maxi pads. |
