The City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division offers a variety of opportunities for artists and art consultants designed to support quality arts programming. The following opportunities are currently available with links to their online applications. Please note that employees or appointed/elected officials of the City of West Hollywood are not eligible to apply to these opportunities. Moving Image Media Art Program Prequalified List (RFQ)
Rolling Application - Deadlines to apply: May 1 and November 1 at 5 p.m. PT
The City of West Hollywood, through its Arts Division, invites artists, curators, and non-profit organizations to submit qualifications for the Moving Image Media Art Program (MIMA) Prequalified List. Qualified applicants from the field include, but are not limited to, those working in film, video, photography, animation, performance, and other forms of digital media such as artists working in all forms of moving image media art; curators with experience in exhibiting artists working in moving image media art; and non-profit art organizations representing moving image media artists. Applications for the Prequalified List are reviewed twice a year (May and November). Applications must be submitted through the online application form.

Musicians and Performer Roster (RFQ)
Rolling Application - Deadlines to apply: January 31 and August 31 at 5:00 p.m. PT
The City of West Hollywood, through its Arts Division, is seeking musicians and performers to be added to our Musicians and Performers Roster (“Roster”). Selected musicians and performers from the Roster will be invited to perform at city events, such as Summer and Winter Sounds, creating playlists, etc. Typical performances will feature 90-minute, in-person, family friendly, music performances.
Artist applications will be accepted online on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed by the Performing Arts and Cultural Affairs Subcommittee biannually in February and September. Approved applicants will remain on the Roster for 2 years. Applicants who were approved for the Roster in 2024 do not need to re-apply.

WeHo Muralist Roster (RFQ)
Rolling Application - Deadlines to apply: March 1 and September 1 at 5:00 p.m. PT
Muralists are invited to submit their portfolio for consideration to be added to the WeHo Muralist Roster. All muralists who wish to paint a mural in the City must qualify for the Roster. Applications for the WeHo Muralist Roster are reviewed on a bi-annual basis (March and September). Artists included on the Roster demonstrate the skills, experience, and interest to design and paint large scale paintings, murals and/or art on construction fencing. The Roster serves as a resource for anyone seeking an artist for a mural project. The intent of the roster is to provide users with a range of artistic styles from which to select an artist that fits the needs of a particular project.

Art on the Outside Temporary Art Project Proposals (Application)
Deadline: June 30, 2025 5 p.m. PT
The City of West Hollywood invites artists, curators, and non-profit arts organizations based in the U.S. to submit proposals for temporary public art projects to the Art on the Outside (AOTO) program. AOTO funds the temporary display of art at publicly accessible City-owned locations and facilities. Past projects include sculptures, murals, digital screen-based artwork & projections, and performance art.
West Hollywood Artist Registry
Open Year-Round
The City's Arts Division invites individuals who live in the City of West Hollywood, identify themselves as an artist, and actively practice their craft, both in and out of the City limits, to submit their information on this form to become part of the City’s West Hollywood Artist Registry.
The Registry is a database of the individuals who live in the West Hollywood community with active and professional art practices, of all disciplines. This database will be maintained by the City’s Arts Division staff.
Individuals who live in West Hollywood, complete the application, and show evidence of their professional artistic practice, through a resume/cv and/or website, will be included on the Registry. E-mails reconfirming a person’s residency in West Hollywood will be sent periodically to ensure the accuracy of the database. Applications from individuals who do not live in the City of West Hollywood will not be considered.

Cultural Programs for the West Hollywood Library
Applications usually reviewed quarterly.
The West Hollywood Library provides opportunities for cultural programs and displays within the public areas of the West Hollywood Library Facility. Organizations and individuals are welcome to apply. Proposals are reviewed by a committee using the criteria as described in the guidelines. Please note that the Library receives far more requests for programming than it is able to accommodate. Typically art exhibitions are scheduled 1-2 years in advance, and literary programs in August/September for the following calendar year (apply by June/July)

Professional Development Opportunities
Artists Bootcamp
Applications due December 6, 2024
Online, via Zoom (with 2 in-person sessions)
The City of West Hollywood has partnered with Rhizomatic Arts to present the 2025 Artists Bootcamp.
If you’re an artist, you have a business. We want you and your art business to thrive. In this workshop, artists across the disciplinary spectrum will meet weekly to identify our values, strengths, and goals and translate that into a healthy business model.
This course is ideal for the emerging or established artist or cultural producer who is ready to level-up, make a better living, pay off debt, or pursue new income streams.
PROGRAM OUTLINE & DATES - Meets via Zoom on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm PT. Dates TBD.

Artists Roundtable
Next Roundtable Coming in Spring 2025
In Person – Aquatic and Recreation Center, Doheny Room, 8750 El Tovar Place
Join us on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11am for the WeHo Artists Roundtable, in person at the Aquatic and Recreation Center (ARC) in West Hollywood. The City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division staff is excited to share updates with our artist community as well as host an artist networking event.
This Roundtable will include an engaging discussion highlighting professional development opportunities for artists. Specifically, we will hear about the WeHo Artists Bootcamp – a series of workshops that brings artists together to identify values, strengths, and goals that can translate into a healthy business model to keep the artist thriving. Light refreshments will be served. Individuals do not need to be a resident of West Hollywood to participate.
Annual Grants Workshop/Webinar
The City conducts an annual arts grants workshop to present the renewed guidelines, provide resources and information about completing grant applications, and answer any questions. The Workshop usually takes place in August. More information about the Arts Grant Program.
