Residential Parking
Residential parking is divided into 11 districts. Within each district streets may require a permit for parking. Permits are valid for 1 year with effective and expiration dates specific to the governing district. Every two months a new district's permits expire and new permits are issued.

New Applicants (Initial Setup)
New residents are to apply via the City's Online Permit Portal. Each application will require 1) Proof of Residence**, 2) Valid Picture ID and 3) Current California Vehicle Registration***. Vehicle registration must be under the resident's name. Separate registration is required for each vehicle. Title, insurance ID or other documentation is not acceptable.

For accounts only requiring visitor permits, please do not select "Resident" or "Guest" permits. You will be submitting the application without any permits type selected.
Current Residents (Permit Renewals)
Permit renewals occur online and are sent by USPS mail. Renewals must be done online or sent via USPS. Renewing online is strongly encouraged, saving time for both parties. Applications should be carefully inspected for accuracy prior to submission to avoid delays. Residents renewing via USPS - please do not submit cash.
If you have renewed your account and have NOT received your permits by the new permit period's effective date, please contact Permit Services to arrange for a temporary permit.
Resident Parking Permit
Resident Parking Permits are valid for a maximum of 1 year. Permits are valid only for the vehicle to which it is registered. See the table below for your Residential Parking Program District's details.

*Permits are prorated six months into their life-cycle
Applicant vehicle must be registered in California and must be the resident's primary vehicle. Commercial use or use by a non-resident is prohibited. Resident permits are issued to a specific vehicle's License Plate or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). A maximum of 4 permits may be purchased per address each permit cycle. Permits may not be transferred without re-registering through the Permit Counter. To avoid being charged a replacement fee, the permit being replaced must be returned to the Permit Counter at time of the transaction.
Fees
Resident Permit purchases are non-refundable. New or renewal fees increase by the number of permits requested. Permits being replaced due to a change in vehicle registration are available at no cost with the return of the previous permit to the Permit Counter.

**Verified EV applicants are eligible for reduced permit rates when supporting documentation is provided during registration. Only registration's showing "Motive of Power=E" shall be eligible. If registering multiple electric vehicles, separate copies of each vehicle's current CA registration must be submitted. If multiple vehicles consisting of non-EV and EV are being registered, EVs must be reported after the non-EV vehicles to receive the greatest discount.
Guest Parking Permit
Guest permits are only available to current West Hollywood residents and are limited to 2 per address. Guest permits are issued in the form of a placard and are interchangeable between vehicles. Guest permits are only for use by the resident or a guest of the resident in the act of visiting. Guest permits must be used in the vicinity of the registered address. Reselling or sharing guest permits for any use other than visitation is strictly prohibited. Misuse may result in citation, towing, or revocation of permit privileges.
Fees
Permit purchases are non-refundable. Guest Parking Placards purchased on or after the resident's District prorate date are $19.

Lost/Stolen Permit Renewal Policy
Guest Annual Permit
A loss of permits renewed by mail is replaceable at no charge at the Permit Counter if reported within 21 calendar days of the purchase date, is accompanied by a completed USPS Receipt of Claim record and is the first in the current renewal period for the address/account. USPS Claims may be submitted online at https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm. Thereafter, lost or stolen Guest Annual Permits may be replaced for fee and up to a maximum of 3 replacement permits each year.

Any vehicle displaying a reported lost or stolen permit is subject to citation and tow at the owner's expense.
Resident Annual Permit
A loss of renewed by mail is replaceable at no charge at the Permit Counter if reported within 21 calendar days of the purchase date, is accompanied by a completed USPS Receipt of Claim printout and is the first request in the current renewal period for the address/account. USPS Claims can be submitted online at https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm. Thereafter, lost or stolen permits are replaced at the full price of the subsequent pricing tier.
Visitor Parking
Visitors of West Hollywood residents parking in preferential parking districts must display a temporary Visitor Parking Permit. Visitor permits are free of charge and may be requested up to 5 days in advance. A maximum of 25 permits may be issued for a single day and no more than 100 permits may be issued to a residential address in the same month. Visitor permits may not be issued in excess of 15 calendar days each month per address.

Overnight Resident Parking Permit
West Hollywood residents in need of overnight parking may purchase an Overnight Resident Parking Permit at $9 per quarter, which allows the overnight parking of the permitted vehicle in specific City parking facilities. Facilities are not accessible during closing hours and permit sales are subject to availability.
Current City facilities offering overnight parking via the Overnight Resident Parking Permit Program are Kings Road Garage, Spaulding Lot and the La Jolla Lot.

Commercial Parking
All accounts are subject to availability. Parking Division has sole and complete discretion on availability. Permits are not guaranteed and must be applied for annually. Allowed permits are tied to the address and not the business. Moving to a new location does not automatically transfer eligibility and will require a new application. C Parking Permits
Commercial-type "C" parking permits are strictly limited. Existing C permit holders may retrieve new rate information by emailing the Permit Counter or waiting for their renewal in the mail. New businesses must abide by the City's Business Parking Requirements. New businesses are strongly encouraged to verify parking requirements before entering into a lease.
M Parking Permits
Type "M" permits are valid in designated spaces between 7 am and 7 pm on San Vincente Blvd between Melrose Ave and Beverly Blvd to qualifying businesses.
E Parking Permits
Type "E" Permits allow employees to park in designated metered spaces in the evening hours between 6 pm and 3 am. E Permits are limited to non-residents employed by a valid business within the boundaries of La Cienega Blvd to Doheny Dr and Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly Blvd.

Lost/Stolen Permit Renewal Policy
Lost or stolen Commercial Permits renewed by mail is replaceable at no charge at the Permit Counter if reported within 21 calendar days of the purchase date, is accompanied by a completed USPS Receipt of Claim printout and is the first request in the current renewal period for the address/account. USPS Claims must be submitted online at https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm. Thereafter, lost or stolen permits will be replaced at the full price. This includes permits lost by mail. Vehicles displaying a reported lost or stolen permit are subject to citation and impound at the owner's expense.

Moving Parking Permit (Parking Encroachment)

An encroachment parking permit (moving permit) may be purchased to temporarily reserve a parking space, without receiving a parking citation. It also allows vehicles greater than 24' in length and over 3/4 tons to park on residential streets. Spaces are reserved by Parking Enforcement in accordance with WHMC 10.07.160.
Moving Parking Permits do not exempt vehicles from local or state law. It is the motorist's responsibility to comply with all traffic and parking regulations, regardless of issuance of permit.

- Permits shall not be issued to place storage containers or POD-type devices in the Public Right-of-way
- Requested locations are not guaranteed and are subject to City's discretion
- Every effort will be made to accommodate each request. In the event a request is unable to be fulfilled to the applicant's preferred location, Parking Enforcement will encroach the next closest space(s) to the original request.
Overnight Parking
Over-sized vehicles, passenger buses and other unusually large vehicles may request to park overnight in commercially zoned parking spaces. If approved, the applicant must pay to reserve each meter they occupy for the duration of the stay.

Monthly Parking
Monthly parking is available for purchase at select lots throughout the City. For availability, fees, and general inquiries, please contact our parking facility operator at (323) 848-2067 or in person at their local office located in the Kings Road Parking Garage at 8383 Santa Monica Blvd.
Off-site Property Owners
Owners of residential property who are non-residents shall be entitled to purchase one guest permit for the property owner’s personal use to visit the property by providing a copy of the dwelling unit’s lease agreement and a current property tax bill at the time of the application and renewed annually. WHMC 10.08.130(b)(4)
