The 1% General County Tax (ad valorem) was established with the passage of Proposition 13. The General levy of 1% is distributed among agencies in the County on a county-wide basis; and the amount of the distribution changes each year based on increases or decreases in assessed value. The City of West Hollywood receives approximately 17.8 cents for every $1.00 paid in ad valorem property taxes.
Property taxes are just one portion of the City's General Fund Revenue. For more information, see the Revenue Analysis section of the City's Current Budget.
