On October 8, 2023, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB) 1637 into law. This legislation requires all cities and counties in California to transition their public-facing websites, internal employee sites, and email addresses to a ".gov" or ".ca.gov" domain. The goal is to improve cybersecurity and help users recognize official government resources. Link to the complete bill.

Although the transition deadline is January 1, 2029, the City of West Hollywood has already begun planning and testing. We have secured the weho.gov domain and will soon pilot @weho.gov email addresses with select employees.

This page will be updated as we progress through the testing phase and finalize the transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at IT@weho.org.
