Neighborhood Watch_coverWant to know an easy and effective way to prevent crime on your street?  Be a good neighbor!

Why Neighborhood Watch?
Neighborhood Watch provides an excellent opportunity to form relationships with law enforcement and City officials at meetings held in your neighborhood. As City staff and Sheriff’s personnel become more aware of the issues that most concern you and your neighbors, they are better able to keep you informed and meet your needs.

Participating in Neighborhood Watch can make the difference in whether your home and neighborhood become a target for crime or remain a safe environment in which to live. Neighborhood Watch also helps neighborhoods build pride and serves as a vehicle to address other community concerns such as code compliance and nuisance issues.

The City of West Hollywood strongly encourages Neighborhood Watch participation and offers a number of good reasons to start a Neighborhood Watch group in your area or join an existing group.

The Benefits Include:

  • An opportunity to meet your neighbors and Sheriff’s Deputies.
  • Attend a variety of crime prevention training seminars on topics such as car burglary prevention, personal safety, emergency preparedness, hate crimes, and more.
  • Obtain information on issues that may be of concern to your neighborhood, including crime statistics in your area.

By participating in Neighborhood Watch, you can:

  • Reduce opportunities for crime by acting as eyes and ears for West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station personnel.
  • Develop a community/law enforcement partnership with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department through shared information, observation, and reporting of suspicious activity, persons, or vehicles.
  • Enhance the quality of life for residents in the City of West Hollywood.

Neighborhood Watch Works!

“Neighborhood Watch gives us an opportunity to get to know our neighbors, share our concerns and learn about what’s going on in the City. You make important connections and build rapport with the people running the City.” – Hampton Comers Neighborhood Watch

“Neighborhood Watch is one of the many glues that keep the  neighborhood together. It helps us to see beyond our immediate neighbors and embrace the entire neighborhood.” – Vista Street Neighborhood Watch

“Neighbors helping neighbors – that’s what it’s all about! We take pride in our neighborhood and our city. Neighborhood Watch... it’s worth the effort.” – WHWRA Neighborhood Watch
