West Hollywood’s Community Safety and Well-Being Strategy
The City of West Hollywood takes a progressive and proactive approach to public safety. Since its incorporation in 1984, the City has invested in a wide range of initiatives and relationships to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the community, primarily with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; Los Angeles County Fire Department; housing agencies, healthcare providers, and local social services agencies; and other civilian security organizations.
West Hollywood’s first Community Safety & Well-Being Strategy (CSWB Strategy) is intended to provide a broader understanding of the most prevalent risks and strategic opportunities within the community. Existing community safety and well-being risks in the City are complex, multifaceted, and often interconnected, and the City and its community partners have made significant efforts to alleviate these challenges over the years.
The City and community members recognize that there is still much work to be done across several focus areas to make sure inequalities are not further exacerbated. As such, the City's CSWB Strategy outlines key priority areas and their respective strategic initiatives to support targeted solutions to community challenges, amplify what is already being done in the City, and enhance collaboration with various community safety and well-being stakeholders and partners to drive desired outcomes. The CSWB Strategy helps create a safer West Hollywood community by finding ways to better connect the City’s existing social service and law enforcement programs, making it easier for individuals to access the supports they need when they need them.

The City is currently developing an implementation plan and key performance indicators to track progress towards achieving the goals and targets defined in the CSWB Strategy (expected delivery: Spring 2023).
