The City of West Hollywood is continuing to follow the lead of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health), the California Department of Public Health (CA Public Health), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The City of West Hollywood is taking every precaution to prioritize community health and well-being. Based on public health recommendations from lead agencies, and in an effort to safeguard public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, the City of West Hollywood is getting the word out Los Angeles County has ordered all bars, clubs, gyms, theatres, bowling alleys, arcades, and entertainment venues closed and restaurants are required to end dine-in service and  provide take out or delivery service only. This includes the City of West Hollywood.

The City of West Hollywood’s City Council will meet tonight regarding a local emergency declaration, which will define next steps in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The declaration of a local emergency would enhance the City of West Hollywood’s ability to access emergency resources at the state and federal level to assist with its novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response. The City Council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on www.weho.org/wehotv and www.youtube.com/wehotv.

Effective immediately, the City of West Hollywood has suspended the following parking regulations until March 31, 2020:

1. Permit parking on all residential streets
2. Street sweeping enforcement 
3. All AM/PM rush hour enforcement (including Holloway, La Brea, Fountain, Robertson south of Beverly)
4. Blocked Driveways - Per complaint only - Call Parking Enforcement (323) 650-6757
5. Loading Zones (commercial and passenger) - Per complaint only - Call Parking Enforcement (323) 650-6757

All citations issued that are not currently delinquent will be extended an additional 30 days from their issue date. Metered parking is continuing in West Hollywood to ensure that businesses that are permitted to remain open during this public health crisis can rely on curb-space turnover. The City of West Hollywood’s free shuttle services, The Pickup (Santa Monica Boulevard) and The Sunset Trip (Sunset Boulevard, Doheny Drive, and Fairfax Avenue) will temporarily cease operation until further notice. The City’s free Cityline local and Cityline Commuter service will remain operation. Dial-A-Ride, the free shared-ride transportation service for residents 62 and older and people with disabilities of all ages, will continue regular service. On March 12, 2020, the City of West Hollywood implemented a number of actions through June 30, 2020, including postponing or cancelling all non-essential events and meetings, including City-sponsored events, City co-sponsored events, and City-funded events -- as well as any events or filming that require a permit. The City of West Hollywood’s decision to cancel and postpone events and meetings is a precautionary measure in response to public health recommendations for social distancing. At City facilities, the schedule of sanitization and cleaning has been increased and additional hand-sanitizer stations and individual hand sanitizer bottles at service counters have been made available; disinfecting wipes are available on an as-needed basis. The City has also begun use of a disinfectant solution at all transit shelters and kiosks and in heavily trafficked locations in public rights of way.
