Winter Sounds: Zetz Klemer Ensemble - Saturday, February 9 at 5 p.m.

Post Date:February 07, 2019 10:44 AM

Zetz Klezmer EnsembleZetz Klezmer is a delightful ensemble whose show weaves together music, stories, history, educational demos, and jokes. Join us at this next Winter Sounds concert series event on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room at the West Hollywood Library, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard.

Zetz Klezmer Ensemble’s original and traditional music is rooted in klezmer traditions of European Jews, but also fuses sounds from across the globe. These creative musicians draw upon a range of music including the haunting melodies of the synagogue, entertaining Yiddish vaudeville songs, boisterous Russian and Ukrainian dances and even a klezmerized Irish jig. This year they have introduced new tunes including Yiddish 101, a beautiful Palestinian song, and a witty arrangement of the traditional song, Odessa Bulgar.

Admission is free. Please arrive early as this event may reach capacity. There will be first-come, first-served seating. RSVPs are requested, but not required, at https://wintersounds-feb2019.eventbrite.com. For details, music samples, and parking information, please visit www.weho.org/wintersounds.
