I See You WeHo by Miguel Andrisani — Weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The new mural, I See You WeHo, was designed by Miguel Andrisani, also known as “Migs” (@MigsArt) who found inspiration in the poem I Sing the Body West Hollywood, a poem created by the City Poet Laureate Kim Dower in collaboration with the West Hollywood community. The poem’s lines evoke West Hollywood’s landscape, landmarks, people, and joie de vivre, in an homage to Walt Whitman’s classic epic poem I Sing the Body Electric. The artwork brings the poem to life, through a digitcal rendering, traversing from day into night (left to right) and from the streetscape to the rooftops of the City (bottom to top). Miguel Andrisani is a West Hollywood resident and this is his first public art exhibition. The triptych art banner mural will be on display until mid-2019.

Isherwood, the famous novelist, and Bachardy, a respected portrait artist, were a couple for more than 30 years until Isherwood’s death and they lived together on Adelaide Drive in Santa Monica, which was the inspiration for the exhibition, Adelaide Drive. This exhibition is also part of the City of West Hollywood’s One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival which celebrates LGBTQ pride through the arts with the theme “I Remember” from May 22 to June 30. The artist reception will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the West Hollywood Library. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.weho.org/pride.

Lost & Found: Safer Sex Activism — Exhibition, through June 2018
Lost & Found: Safer Sex Activism examines 30 years of inspiring and defiant safer sex and harm-reduction activism. The exhibition at the ONE Gallery presents safer sex posters, comics, brochures, videos, PSAs, and safer sex and clean needle kits, among other archival items, all from the collections at ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at USC Libraries. While at the height of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and 1990s widespread public perception linked AIDS to gay men and intravenous drug users, Lost & Found reveals how activists sought to educate and empower varying publics about the pervasive epidemic. Rather than stigmatize sexuality, these educational projects often went hand-in-hand with sex positive practices. Lost & Found shows how the dissemination of information sought to cross cultural, economic, linguistic, and class divisions. While the majority of materials were produced in the 1980s and 1990s, the exhibition also connects these histories to the ongoing AIDS crisis through contemporary artists and activist projects. Lost & Found: Safer Sex Activism is co-curated by David Evans Frantz, curator at ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries, and independent curator Hannah Grossman, with support from exhibition consultant Neal Baer, M.D. Generous support is provided by The Calamus Foundation of New York, Inc. and the City of West Hollywood.
Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. through June 2018 the ONE Gallery West Hollywood, located at 626 N. Robertson Boulevard.
