Aquatic & Recreation Center:
Excavation and hauling work is moving forward. Excavation work began on Thursday September 28th and will continue for approximately two weeks. Now that this work has begun, there will be continuous hauling trucks entering El Tovar from the south and exiting to the north and/or the south onto Robertson. This work is in preparation for the new building foundations and footings to be poured.
You can view the construction work live on the City’s webcams. Go to /city-government/city-departments-divisions/city-manager/strategic-initiatives/west-hollywood-park-master-plan-phase-ii and click on camera 1 or camera 2.
Parking Impact:
To accommodate visitors in the area during construction, metered street parking, daytime valet service, and parking in the five-story garage at the Library is available. The City of West Hollywood has provided Robertson Boulevard businesses with parking validation cards to distribute to patrons. Validation cards are good for one additional hour of free parking in the five-story garage (first hour is already free), or $2 off the daytime valet located on Robertson Boulevard in front of Sur Lounge and Tortilla Republic. Please come out to enjoy the Park - facilities still open during construction - and support our local businesses!!
The Library underground parking garage remains closed. Work is continuing inside the garage to include 25 additional parking spaces.
Dog Parks:
The areas to the east and west of the basketball courts will soon be home to off-leash dog parks. One park will be for large dogs and the other for small dogs. The City is currently working on Rules and Regulations for the Parks. Construction work is proceeding on schedule and the parks will be ready for opening by the end of this year.
