The City's street tree trimming contractor, West Coast Arborists, began trimming the trees along Sunset Blvd on September 8. The City's street tree trimming is scheduled to continue through February 2015. Each day, trimming will start at 8:00 am, and will be finished by 3:00 pm. Westbound lanes will not be affected until after 10:00 am in order to minimize the disruption to morning traffic. Following the completion of Sunset Blvd., trimming of the City’s commercial areas will start along Beverly Blvd. and then move to Santa Monica Blvd. and onto other arterial streets. The annual trimming process, including residential area trimming, is expected to continue through February.

In an effort to let the residents, the business community and daily commuters know of, and plan for, the tree trimming activities: 

• "No parking" signs will be placed a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the work. The signs will reflect the scheduled trimming activities for each day and will be broken down into two time segments, before noon and after noon. The "No parking" signs will reflect these times. Parking spaces will be re-opened as soon as possible after work is completed. 
• Door hangers will be placed one week in advance of tree trimming activities. 
• Electronic message boards will be placed at strategic locations several days before trimming, and during trimming activities to allow commuters the option of changing their route.
