Have you ever wanted to become a firefighter? The City of West Hollywood is getting out the word that the Los Angeles County Fire Department is presenting a series of Firefighter Preparatory Seminars between January 2014 and May 2014. These one-day seminars will help interested candidates learn about what to expect from the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s hiring process and assist in preparation for the Fire Department’s Firefighter Trainee examination in Summer 2014.

The first seminar is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the City of Pomona at Western University, 309 E. 2nd Street, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar will be repeated again at the same location on Saturday, March 29, 2014, and on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Each seminar will cover a wide range of helpful information, including: Introduction to the Fire Service; Recruit and Probationary Firefighter Expectations; Written Test Preparation; Oral Interview Preparation; Introduction to the Background Check Process; Health and Fitness; and Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).

Registration is required to attend. Additional information and online registration is available at www.fire.lacounty.gov
