On Monday February 25, 2013, the City’s contractor, PCI, will begin the striping and roadway marking refreshment and refurbishment work on Melrose Ave. in the City of West Hollywood. All work will be completed during nighttime hours between 9:00 pm - 5:00 am.
Scope of Work:
Over the next 3 weeks, as part of the City’s routine street maintenance efforts, the Facilities and Field Services Division will be working with PCI to refresh all roadway markings and striping along Melrose Ave, between Doheny Dr. (west City limit) to La Cienega Blvd. (east city limit).
The contractor will grind off damaged and faded roadway legends, striping, and crosswalks then reinstall them in paint. The crosswalks will be installed per the new City’s “crosswalk standards” by removing the limit line and installing yield line markings per current standards. The City’s Street Maintenance crew will install the new crosswalk signs in locations designated by the City’s Engineering Division. Parking spaces will be not be adjusted or altered as part of this work. All legends and striping will be reinstalled to existing formats.
What to Expect:
All work will be performed during nighttime hours between 9:00 pm to 5:00 am to minimize the inconvenience to local businesses and lessen impacts to traffic on Melrose Avenue throughout the day.
Questions and Concerns:
Brian Jackson of the City of West Hollywood’s Public Works Department will be overseeing the contractor and project management for the City. He can be reached in the office at 323-848-6879.
