The City of West Hollywood’s Summer Sounds Free Outdoor Concert Series returns for 2024. Concerts will take place on select Sunday evenings at 4 p.m. between Sunday, July 7, 2024 and Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Plummer Park, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, in West Hollywood. The City of West Hollywood’s 2024 Summer Sounds Free Outdoor Concert Series is organized by the City of West Hollywood’s Arts Division. Summer Sounds concerts are free to attend; RSVPs are not required but are requested. Reserved seating is not available. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics, park blankets, and low chairs. Food will also be available for purchase.

Summer Sounds will kick off on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 4 p.m. with Blanco y Negro, Andre Cruz and Chris Lujan, and DJ Monalisa. Blanco y Negro is a Los Angeles-based Latin ska band that has been entertaining audiences with their infectious rhythms and upbeat sound for more than a decade. The band was formed in the early 2010s by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for Latin music and ska. Over the years, Blanco y Negro has become a well-known fixture in the Los Angeles music scene and has gained a loyal following of fans who love their high-energy performances and catchy, danceable tunes.
Andre Cruz and Chris Lujan, backed by the five-piece Black Diamond Rhythm Band, dish up their own unique recipe of fuzz heavy, groove-infused, crooning sweet soul and funk that’ll either lay you out with a heavy heart or have you shaking what yo’ mama gave ya’!
This concert will also feature DJ Monalisa. Monalisa has been associated with quality music in Los Angeles for three decades. She was a music promoter and a fan before becoming a DJ 17 years ago and she is known for spinning jams of all genres. Monalisa has a show on Dublab called Paths of Rhythm, and is a member of Umoja Hi-Fi Soundsystem, KPL All-Stars, Ladies of Sound, Prism DJs, and LA’s Motown on Mondays.
Emi Secrest, The Gumbo Brothers, and DJ R-Tistic will perform on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 4 p.m. Where the Mississippi River meets Tennessee Whiskey, American singer/songwriter Emi Secrest brings the South and its culture to mainstream. Having traveled all around the globe performing and writing with everyone from Christina Aguilera and Kanye West to John Legend and Macy Gray, Secrest has proved she is a powerhouse and Superstar! Her television debut was on The Steve Harvey Show and has since been featured on The D’Amelio Show, Love & Marriage, and Lizzo’s Emmy award-winning series Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.
Based in Los Angeles, California, the Gumbo Brothers have been entertaining crowds with their own special blend of New Orleans funk and West Coast hip-hop for more than 20 years.
DJ R-Tistic has become one of the entertainment industry’s favorite DJs. He is known worldwide for his high energy sets. He has gained notoriety for his DJ mixes and videos. He has DJ’d special events for Issa Rae, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Lena Waithe, Common, and many more.
The Neighborhood Orchestra (NOC) and DJ Aaron Paar will perform on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 4 p.m. The Neighborhood Orchestra Collective (NOC) is a Los Angeles-based musical ensemble known for their genre-blending, electrifying performances. Formed in 2020, NOC has quickly risen to prominence in the LA music scene, gaining recognition for their remarkable live shows and collaborations with industry icons. Their debut single, A Girl Like You, featuring LA rapper Murs garnered significant attention, amassing thousands of Spotify followers and streams. NOC’s deep roots in the local community and global appeal make them a cultural force.
This concert will also feature DJ Aaron Paar. Born in Nottingham, England, Aaron Paar has been an active figure in the Los Angeles DJ, underground club, and recording scene since the early ’90s. With a family music background, Paar continues to stay at the forefront of cutting-edge music cultures across many styles. This concert is presented in partnership with Grand Performances and supported by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.
On Sunday, August 18, 2024, CicLAvia – Meet The Hollywoods presented by Metro will roll through West Hollywood creating an open streets environment for cyclists and pedestrians. There will be vehicle street closures on, and adjacent to, Santa Monica Boulevard, between N. San Vicente Boulevard and N. La Brea Avenue. Please plan in advance, as there may be extra traffic. If you’re participating in CicLAvia, make a day of it and spend the late afternoon in Plummer Park enjoying the sounds of summer in the park!
