The City of West Hollywood will host the 2011 AIDS Walk Los Angeles (AIDS Walk) on Sunday, October 16, 2011 starting with the Opening Ceremony at 9:15 a.m., and the walk beginning at 10 a.m. The AIDS Walk begins and ends in West Hollywood Park located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard (between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard) in West Hollywood. The money raised by AIDS Walk benefits AIDS Project Los Angeles and other AIDS service organizations across Los Angeles County. More than 30,000 people are expected to participate in this year’s AIDS Walk.

There will be street and traffic closures in the City of West Hollywood on the following streets: 

• San Vicente Boulevard from Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose will be closed from Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 6 p.m. 
• San Vicente Boulevard from Cynthia Street to Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed from Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• Robertson Boulevard from Melrose Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
• La Peer Drive from Melrose Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
• Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to Hollway Drive will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
• La Cienega Boulevard from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
• Melrose Place from La Cienega to Orlando Avenue will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
• Melrose Avenue from La Cienega Boulevard to La Brea Drive will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. 
• Melrose Avenue from La Cienega to Doheny Drive will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• La Brea Avenue from Melrose Avenue to Beverly Boulevard will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• Beverly Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to San Vicente Boulevard will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
• San Vicente Boulevard from Beverly Boulevard to Melrose Avenue (east side only) will be closed on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
