Eating Our Own

(Wednesday, March 16, 2016; 7:30pm to 9pm)

The dominant American culture has ignored, diminished, and attached gay men for generations. We often adopt those attitudes while interacting with each other. In this gathering of the TRIBE, we will discuss why it happens and what we can do to change the phenomenon.

Potential Talking Points:

  1. Why do some of us attack, disempower, or undermine other gay men?
  2. Where are we getting it right?  What are some examples of Gays supporting Gays?
  3. How do we reconcile the challenges caused by our diversity? (serostatus, masc/fem, etc…)
  4. Does the Politically Correct tyranny keep us from being who we want to be?
  5. How can we build coalitions to advance the gay civil rights agenda with unity?
  6. How can we be more supportive to those we don't quite understand?
  7. Does internalized homophobia play a part to all this?
  8. Why does making fun of others make some people feel better about themselves?
  9. Is it getting better, worse, or staying the same as it was ten years ago?

Admission is free. No RSVP required.
