The City of West Hollywood will host a reception for the artist Mauro Perucchetti and his pair of Michelangelo-inspired sculptures. “Michelangelo 2020: A Tribute to Women,” a sculpture by internationally renowned Italian artist Mauro Perucchetti, reimagines Michelangelo’s classic David sculpture in female form and serves as a symbol of the artist’s belief in gender equality. The piece will be positioned alongside of “Modern Heroes,” which arrived in late May. “Modern Heroes” features pop art emulations of comic book-like icons of masculinity (based on the artist’s own visage). They are positioned in a gesture referential to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling. Admission is free.  For more information, visit www.weho.org/arts.
