    625 N. San Vicente Boulevard
In commemoration of the Holocaust, the City of West Hollywood’s Russian Advisory Board and the American-Russian Business Council will sponsor a screening of the documentary “Holocaust – Is that Wallpaper Paste?” Commemorating the Holocaust is an important reminder of the collapse of a civilization and the tragic loss of millions of innocent lives. It is a part of history that should never be forgotten. However, this documentary shows that there are individuals that know nothing about the Holocaust. Two young women from a Russian province appeared on a TV show and were asked what the word Holocaust means. The answer that the word Holocaust means “wallpaper paste” became the catalyst for journalist and film director Mumin Shakirov to come up with the idea to buy these two women tickets to Warsaw, Poland. Traveling with them to Auschwitz, he captures on film their journey and their reactions as they take in and begin to understand the horrors of the concentration camps. The film is in Russian with English sub-titles. Q&A with the movie director Mumin Shakirov. English-Russian translation will be provided if needed. Suggested donation $10. For more information, call (818) 377-2101.
