The City’s annual conference features dynamic speakers, informative panels, expert-led trainings, exhibitors, networking and mentorship opportunities. The conference also features a leadership keynote luncheon discussion about women in the arts and media with guest speakers Patt Morrison, LA Times writer, columnist and Pulitzer Prize winner; Charmaine Jefferson, Executive Director of the California African American Museum; Jane Espenson, writer and producer, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Once upon a Time” and “Husbands”; and Brad Bell, writer, actor and producer, “Husbands”. $45 advance registration fee required for the all-day conference on Saturday. $15 Senior and full-time student rate. $55 day of the event. The conference Friday night kick-off includes an exclusive screening of the HBO documentary film “Paycheck to Paycheck: The Life and Times of Katrina Gilbert” followed by a panel discussion and “Call to Action” dessert reception.
