Join the City of West Hollywood at the new West Hollywood Gay Men’s Discussion Group. The West Hollywood Gay Men’s Discussion Group will meet the third Thursday of every month for a series of lightly moderated discussions open to the public to encourage attendees to discuss their own experiences about issues of importance to the Gay male community. The TRIBE discussion group will provide an open space for building relationships, promoting dialog, identifying challenges, and creating solutions for issues currently facing Gay men. In this month’s program, the TRIBE will discuss our role in the political landscape, both here in West Hollywood and Nationwide. How important is it to advance our agenda? How much power does the gay body politic really have? Do we need more queers in elected office? Would you run? Are we more or less likely to vote for our fellow gays?
Discussion topics include: the real Gay Agenda: our issues and our elected; the Obama Factor: is money our biggest bargaining chip in elections; elected and electing gay officials; running for office; the power of your vote: how do you use it?
Admission is free. Validated parking will be available in the 5-story parking structure adjacent to the Library. For more information, please visit www.weho.org/tribe or email tribe@weho.org TTY for the deaf and hard of hearing at (323) 848-6496.
