Presented as part of the One City One Pride Queer Arts Festival, the City is kicking off the Summer Sounds series with a concert as part of the World’s Largest Gay Father’s Day Celebration. This family friendly event is open to all and will feature storytelling, information on family services, and a concert featuring the band Upstream. This concert is sponsored by LA County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky. The band Upstream, whose members include two sons of the venerable inventor of Soca music, the late Ras Shorty I, was formed in the republic of Trinidad & Tobago in 1989. They relocated to Southern California in the early nineties and have made a name for themselves with their energetic eclectic style of Reggae and Soca. Admission is free.
