Your day begins with a drive up the coast to scenic Santa Barbara where you’ll have time for lunch on your own at one of the cafes or restaurants along State Street. Later, you will travel to Lotusland for the remainder of the afternoon. Lotusland is a unique 37-acre estate and botanic garden situated in the foothills of Montecito to the east of the city of Santa Barbara. Upon arrival, knowledgeable volunteer docents will join the group for a two-hour walking tour as they interpret the garden and its history. During your tour, you will encounter subtropical and tropical plants from around the world. Additional gardens feature ferns, aloes, succulents, lotuses, water lilies, and cacti gardens. Theme gardens include the blue garden, theatre garden, butterfly garden and a Japanese garden. Other classic features of Lotusland are the topiary garden, a horticultural clock, the water stairs and the Neptune fountain.
