Yozmit The DogStar presents "Effervescent"

Effervescent is a multimedia presentation of Yozmit's song Effervescent, featuring a Trans-Nonbinary choir. This immersive experience combines live performance, video presentation, and an artist talk, offering a dynamic exploration of themes surrounding gender, identity, and self-realization. The event includes a conversation and Q&A, where the audience can engage with the artist and performers, diving deeper into the creative process and the significance of the work.

The word 'effervescent' reminds me of a small crack or opening in my iceberg of oppression that lets loose a few bubbles of liberation. Growing up in the transphobic society of Korea, I went on a spiritual artistic journey to find my voice as a transgender artist after immigrating to LA in 1989. I realize that all it takes for things to change is the escape of a few bubbles, my truth. My intention of working with mainly transgender singers is to add more sonic bubbles of freedom as if they are the missing echoes of our collective voice which I believe will restore the balance in the hearts of contemporaries in society.
