The forum is being produced in collaboration with APLA Health and the LA County Department of Public Health and will feature a moderated panel discussion. The panel will include Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, Professor of Clinical Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California, Dr. Prabhu Gounder, Adjunct Research Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences and a medical epidemiologist with the LA County Department of Public Health, and Brian Risley, Manager, HIV/Hep C Health, HIV & Older Adults and Women Together Programs and Co-Chair of the LA County Hep C Task Force.
The discussion will focus on the reality that a high number of individuals who aware of their Hepatitis C positive status are not seeking treatment, despite Hep C being a highly curable disease. This lack of action puts not only their lives in danger, but it is likely the source of Hep C dissemination to other people.
The discussion will be moderated by Hernan Molina, Governmental Affairs Liaison for the City of West Hollywood.
Reception and light dinner at 6 PM, followed by the moderated discussion.
