Kontrapunktus presents THE LONDONERS: An English Baroque Salute

KONTRAPUNKTUS returns this January with five winter performances of its new production, “THE LONDONERS: An English Baroque Salute,” which spotlights the musical artistry of British, Scottish, and Irish composers during the Baroque era, including George Frideric Handel, William Boyce, Charles Avison, James Oswald, Carl Friedrich Abel, and Henry Purcell. KONTRAPUNKTUS is a world-class chamber ensemble led by acclaimed Sphinx Competition First Place Laureate and Concertmaster, Hannah White, and Juilliard Master of Music candidate, Osheen Manukyan as its cellist and co-Artistic Director. The nucleus of our ensemble is comprised of other Master of Music postgraduates, including violinists Cameron Alan-Lee, (New England Conservatory of Music), David Chang (UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music), violist Cassia Drake (Yale School of Music), and Korean keyboardist, Bogang Hwang (Colburn School). Promising violinist, Wenlan Jackson (Colburn School), and double bassist, Harrison Dearman (Colburn School) rounds out the group. This winter, the soloist spotlight will fall one of the most gifted young flutists in the United States, Khoi Dinh (Juilliard School).
