Los Angeles-based artist Julio Sims will exhibit a free-standing mural depicting individuals using American Sign Language to express the phrase: “What if a tree falls and no one hears?” The artwork is printed on a pleated surface displaying three sets of dual images conveying each ASL sign to generate a lenticular effect that creates the illusion of movement visible to pedestrian passersby. This project is presented as part of the Art on the Outside Program.
