Virtual Neighborhood Meeting for Gindi Maimonides Academy Lower School and Gymnasium Project

Property Locations:
8511-8561 Beverly Place, 310 N. Huntley Drive, and 309 N. Westbourne Drive

The Gindi Maimonides Academy (Academy) proposes the redevelopment of its existing early childhood and lower school campus with a state-of-art classroom building for children ages 18 months through 8 years old in daycare, pre-nursery, nursery, kinder, pre-1, 1st and 2nd grade.

The proposed project would demolish all existing development on the Academy's properties fronting Beverly Place that includes frontage on Huntley and Westbourne Drives, which includes: five buildings with classrooms, ancillary support spaces, and administrative offices totaling approximately 15,000 square feet, and outdoor play spaces, existing basketball courts, and surface parking areas. No changes to the existing upper school building fronting La Cienega Boulevard would occur.

On the property between Westbourne and Huntley Drives, new classrooms and support spaces would be located in a new building totaling approximately 36,600 square feet. The building would be located around common play areas and vary in height and stories from 33 feet high / 3 stories along Beverly Place stepping down in height to 11 feet / 1 story along the northern edge of the property adjacent to the single-family homes. On the property east of Westbourne Drive would be an approximately 13,200 square-foot gymnasium above a single subterranean parking level. The gymnasium would have a folded-plate roof with some peaks at approximately 31.5 feet in height. The Academy proposes the creation of the Gindi Maimonides Specific Plan to allow the proposed Lower School and Gymnasium Project.
