#ERA100 Birthday Bash

The City of West Hollywood will join centennial celebrations across the country honoring the 100th anniversary of the Equal Rights Amendment by hosting a #ERA100 birthday bash with the advocacy organization Equal Means Equal. The Equal Rights Amendment was first introduced on March 22, 1923 by suffragist leader Alice Paul and was ratified on January 27, 2020.  This festive gathering will feature a short program with guest speakers, live art, a group photo and cupcakes for all!  Special guest speaker: Kamala Lopez, Founder and Executive Director of Equal Means Equal, a movement dedicated to completing the ratification and adoption of the original Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution. Live art by Contemporary artist Amy Smith, who creates a bold mixture of figurative paintings including her iconic women's portraiture series, limited edition prints, illustrations, digital collages, abstract paintings, digital cityscapes, and inspirational merchandise. Using different techniques, her work celebrates unity and empowerment, feminism, social, and environmental justice, and messages that inspire love and hope.

This event will be held outdoors in the City Hall Courtyard.  In case of rain the event will be held indoors.
