MOTHERLAND DOCUMENTARY - A Film Screening and Discussion

Motherland is an investigative documentary written, directed, and produced by journalist and LGBTQ+ activist Vic Gerami. The feature-length documentary focuses on Azerbaijan and Turkey’s attack and invasion of the Republic of Artsakh, and the massacre of more than 5,000 indigenous Armenians on September 27, 2020.  Through an activist and journalistic lens, the film chronicles the Armenian people’s fight for peace, liberation, and humanity.  The documentary includes interviews with elected officials, firsthand accounts from civilians, refugees, and veterans, and documented reports from journalists. The documentary’s cast also contains seven leading members of Congress including Congressman Adam Schiff, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, and Congressman Brad Sherman, among others.

Viewer discretion is advised, as the film contains graphic images of violent warfare.

Following the screening will be a discussion moderated by Mayor Sepi Shyne featuring the Director, Vic Gerami, Henrick Vartanian, the film producer, and Chris Damadyan, the film editor.
