Ignacio Darnaude presents "Breaking the Gay Code in Art"

Artist, Ignacio Darnaude, presents a free, 4-lecture series with stunning imagery an untold part of LGBTQ history. Unable to express their same-sex desires openly, many iconic queer artists used secret gay codes or created homoerotic images hiding in plain sight throughout history. Undetected by the general population, these coded images allowed them to express taboos in a way that wasn’t punishable. In doing so, they transformed mainstream culture every step of the way. Join in person on March 15, April 19, May 17, and June 21 from 3-4pm. No RSVP required. These presentations are supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.
