Helix Collective Ensemble will present Music with a Movie Camera on Victory in Europe Day and will highlight films and composers with connections to WWII and well known and recognizable by community members.

2023 is the 78th anniversary of the Victory in Europe over the Nazi regime. The Russian speaking Advisory Board supports and continues the celebration of parents’, grandparents’, and great grandparents’ role in the war and re-confirmation of their status as family heroes no matter their military or civil defense rank, or whether they survived. Commemoration of the WWII Veterans has an educational impact on the community and younger generation.   Victory in Europe Day marks the defeat of the Nazi forces and remembers the estimated 50 million people who died during World War II.  The Russian speaking Advisory Board is also inviting members of the community to join the WWII Veterans, their family members and friends at the WWII Veterans Memorial in Plummer Park to lay flowers and wreaths, share stories and remember those who fought on the fronts of WWII.
