Event co-hosted by the City of West Hollywood and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). WHAP! Is a new lecture series ranging from critical and political theory to film screenings and conversations about art and architecture. Democracy in America will feature a conversation with Dick Howard and Martin Plot. Dick Howard works on aspects of political philosophy and contemporary political thought, as well as the history of political thought. He is a frequent political commentator on French and Canadian radio and television. Martin Plot teaches in the School of Critical Studies at the California Institute of the Arts. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Buenos Aires, an M.A. from the Institute for Advanced Social Studies (UNSAM), and a Ph.D. from the New School for Social Research.
