The LA County Lesbian, Bisexual, and Queer Women's Health Collaborative and the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women's Health Education & Research Center, in partnership with the City of West Hollywood, will host a virtual documentary film screening, "Patient No More," followed by a panel discussion with special guest speakers.

Don't miss this FREE virtual community event that will explore the barriers LGBTQ+ women navigate across health care systems and how the never-ending hunt for affirming care affects their lives.

Patient No More is a feature documentary about the barriers LGBTQ+ women navigate across health care systems and how the never-ending hunt for affirming care affects their lives. Focused on centering the experiences of queer and female-identified people, the film features the voices of 17 LGBTQ+ women as both expert and patient.

The panel will reflect on what actions need to be taken to make the health care system work for lesbian, bisexual and queer women, the importance of intersectionality in considering health care, and how can allies and supporters work with lesbian, bisexual, and queer women to advocate for reducing health inequities and improving care.  

The panel will be moderated by Janet Pregler, MD, Professor of Clinical Medicine, General Internal Medicine & Health Services Research, Director, Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center, and Iris Cantor Endowed Chair in Women’s Health, David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles.   

Panelists will include:

  • Dr. Bobbie Rimel, Cedars Sinai Medical Center
  • Dr. Kaiyti Duffy, Audre Lorde Health Program at the LA LGBT Center
