Join the City of West Hollywood in the Sound Alarm community event on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  The event is being brought to the community in partnership with the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region to educate residents and community members on home fire prevention safety and provide free installation of smoke alarms.  Most households are not sufficiently prepared for a home fire and lack properly working smoke alarms.  In an effort to save lives, in 2014, the American Red Cross launched their Home Fire Campaign with the goal of reducing home fire-related deaths and injuries in the U.S. by 25% by the year 2020.  To date, the Red Cross has installed more than 1 million free smoke alarms in homes throughout the country.  The Sound the Alarm event will provide an opportunity for West Hollywood residents and community members to receive educational tips and training on home prevention and fire safety, and the option to install free smoke alarms, and replace batteries in existing alarms.
