What Did I Do To Be So Black and…

What Did I Do To Be So Black and…(a dream I had after falling asleep with Fox News Channel on)

Highways presents a surrealistic meditation on a controversial alternative lifestyle: blacks and gays in the Republican Party. This new “mixed media piece” features live performance and video by Paul Outlaw, as well as a sculptural installation consisting of costume, set and prop pieces. The disparate ingredients of this 30-minute work combine to create a witch’s brew of cultural artifacts from the past hundred years. Event sponsored by the City of West Hollywood through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission’s Arts Grant Program. Admission $10 per person. For more information, please call (310) 453-1755 or visit www.highwaysperformance.org  TTY for the deaf and hard of hearing at (323) 848-6496.
