Women’s History Month Kick-Off with the unveiling of Women’s History Month Banners
Join the City of West Hollywood City Council and it’s Women’s Advisory Board for the annual kick-off of Women’s History Month in West Hollywood. This year is the 28th anniversary of the Women’s Advisory Board and the 34rd City of West Hollywood celebration of National Women’s History Month. Two new Women’s History Month street-pole banners, one honoring Alicia Garza, Principal at Black Futures Lab and Co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Global Network and one honoring Michaela Mendelsohn, CEO/Founder and Board Chair, Trans Can Work, business leader and activist.

National Women’s History Month Street Pole Banner Display March 1-31 Along Santa Monia Boulevard.
Throughout the month, street pole banners that commemorate famous American women, civil rights leaders, and women’s rights activists will be on display along Santa Monica Boulevard. Existing street pole banners include: Maya Angelou; Susan B. Anthony; Elizabeth Blackwell; Ivy Bottini; Rachel Carson; Hillary Rodham Clinton; Bessie Coleman; Midge Costanza; Jane Fonda; Barbara Gittings; Dolores Huerta; Mother Jones; Coretta Scott King; Wilma Mankiller; Mary McLeod Bethune; Patsy Mink; Inez Milholland; Zoe Nicholson; Connie Norman; Michelle Obama; Rosa Parks; U.S. Congressmember Nancy Pelosi; Eleanor Roosevelt; Margaret Sanger; Sonia Sotomayor; Elizabeth Stanton; Gloria Steinem; Elizabeth Taylor; Harriet Tubman; U.S. Congressmember Maxine Waters and Oprah Winfrey.
