Event Title: COVID-19 Vaccine Panel Discussion
Event Date: February 23, 2021
Time: 6pm
Details:
The City of West Hollywood is hosting a COVID-19 Vaccine Panel Discussion, featuring medical and public health experts, as well as members of the community who participated in vaccine clinical trials. The purpose of the panel is to provide information about the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine, an update on the vaccine rollout in Los Angeles County, and what is to be expected in the coming months.
The availability of a COVID-19 vaccine brings hope to many people who have been struggling with this public health crisis over the past year. Experts predict 75% to 85% of people must get vaccinated to reach true herd immunity – the point at which most of the population is immune to the virus and it begins to subside. The vaccine rollout has been slow because of limited supplies and the lack of a coordinated federal plan; however, the hope is this will begin to speed up in the coming months.
