Join the City of West Hollywood virtually for Roe@48 Before It’s Too Late to commemorate the anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion in the United States. Leaders and activists on the ground from other states around the country will speak about their ongoing work to support reproductive justice and access to abortion in their communities. The event is action-oriented and attendees will learn ways they can take action to support access to reproductive care. Guest speakers include: Fabiola Carrion, Senior Attorney, National Health Law Program NHeLP; Cherisse Scott, Founder & Executive Director, Sister Reach; Amber C., RN, EMW- Women’s Surgical Center; Amelia Bonow, Cofounder, Shout Your Abortion and Dr. Caroline Heldman, Chair of the Critical Theory & Social Justice Department, Occidental College, who will MC the program.
Roe@48 is presented by NCJW |LA and the City of West Hollywood in collaboration with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles; Sister Reach; Shout Your Abortion, SYA; ACLU of Southern California; Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice; Women's Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, WRRAP; Hollywood NOW; City of West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Board and the City of West Hollywood Women’s Leadership Conference and Network. Event proceeds raised will go to benefit reproductive justice organizations and service providers.
