Join the National Council of Jewish Women/LA and the City of West Hollywood and its Women’s Advisory Board for a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of women winning the right to vote in the United States! The program features a timely and informative conversation with leaders commemorating the Centennial of women winning the vote in the United States, highlighting the contributions of Black Suffragists and examining the important and critical past, present and future of voting rights for all. The panel discussion will be moderated by LA Times collunist Sandy Banks and the guest speakers include Camille Acevedo, Civic Youth Leader; Kat Calvin, Founder, Spread the Vote; Dr. Treva Lindsey, Associate Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Ohio State University and Bamby Salcedo, President, TransLatin@ Coalition. There will be a special presentation about understanding ballot initiatives by Jacquie Canfield, First Vice President, California League of Women Voters. The program is a collaboration with the League of Women’s Voters Los Angeles; The City of Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment; Los Angeles County Women and Girls Initiative; Los Angeles County Commission on Status of Women and Girls; Hollywood NOW; National Women's Political Caucus, LA-Westside and the City of West Hollywood Women's Leadership Conference & Network.
