Benita Bike's DanceArt presents a program of beautiful dance and arts exploration in West Hollywood on April 19 at Plummer Park Community Center. Three concert dances will be performed and audience members will be encouraged to ask questions of the artists and share their thoughts on the work performed. The dances to be performed are: 1) "In the Garden," accompanied by the sounds of night and Finnish vocal music, brings an ancient lost garden to life. Dancers in red dresses move red garden stones around to create paths throughout the garden, and golden tree spirits are freed to explore the night. 2) "For Rose," about the passing of choreographer Benita Bike's mother Rose. Stark and poignant, this dance touches on complicated feelings of love, discordance, and death. 3) "Bench Set," a brand new dance work that captures the private moments shared on benches in a park. This program is supported by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood. For more information, please contact Grants Coordinator, Eva Angeloff, at 323-848-6354 or eangeloff@weho.org
