ROE AT 47 – BRAVE PAST, ENDANGERED FUTURE
Join the National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles, the City of West Hollywood and its Women’s Advisory Board for ROE AT 47 – BRAVE PAST, ENDANGERED FUTURE, to commemorate the landmark Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in the United States. There will be a special community screening of Jane by filmmaker Natalija Vekic, a short narrative film set in the era before Roe v. Wade. Take a look back at a time when illegal abortions and pregnancy-induced suicides were the norm. ROE AT 47 is an interactive event and an opportunity to build resilience in response to the attack on our Reproductive Freedoms!
Don’t miss this night of reflection for activism, movement building, and ways to safeguard Roe v Wade and reproductive justice. The event is co-sponsored by California Coalition for Reproductive Freedom, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, ACLU of Southern California, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Hollywood NOW, Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project and Abortion Access Front. Refreshments will be served.
Free Admission.
