Through riveting and moving personal accounts of both Palestinians and Israelis, “1948: Creation and Catastrophe” reveals events of the most pivotal year in one of the most controversial conflicts in the world.  It tells the story of the establishment of the state of Israel through the eyes of the people who lived it.  The film sheds insight into how the events of 1948 continue to inform the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts today.

The mission of the Human Rights Speakers Series is to bring together diverse communities to learn about and discuss global, national and local human rights issues in a supportive environment.
